So far we have taken part in over a dozen wholesale/retail trade fairs in Athens. What we do is we act as "middle-men" for social firms/sheltered work-schemes from all over Greece. We send faxes to all the work-schemes we know of. We rent a space at the exhibition hall, its size depending on the number of participants (5-6 on average). We organise for the products to be delivered to our premises. We check price lists etc. etc. Nearer the time we set and decorate our stall. Finally we exhibit the products and we take orders from the tradesmen on behalf of each individual work scheme. At the end of the fair we return the goods together with the order forms.
This we believe is yet another form of education: educating the work-schemes on the rules of the trade. And educating the general public, the visitors, not on what people with disabilities cannot do, but on what they can do.

“Kivotos” (The Ark) is an original gift shop with hampers and other beautiful presentations of traditional Greek products/seasonal goods.
As a member of the therapeutic social co-operatives of the Dromokaiteion Psychiatric Hospital, “Kivotos” aims to provide employment for people with mental health problems who now live in the community. At the same time, “Kivotos” ventures to promote good old-fashioned Greek eating and drinking habits! Our customers can make their own selection from a variety of products, based on granny’s recipies from all over Greece, accompanied by bottles of traditional Greek drinks.    >>>
